| The one thing that I have
seen is that the people in the field that daily do the job with some since
of pride regardless of the new rules, roles or raises. All of which not only
affect us, but our home life and we still do the job just as we should. The
saying strength in numbers is something that I strongly agree with. Its true
that one person can make a difference but we as a whole can have a bigger
impact.
With all that said, there are a few things that I am
working on right now:
- Staffing: to make sure that the people that are
assigned to the rigs meet the same standards as a "Professional
Firefighter", not just bodies on the trucks.
- Infection control: it’s your future, make sure you use
every available precaution to help minimize the chance for an exposure.
REPORT IT IF YOU BEEN EXPOSED. You will need a paper trail for future
action.
- Equipment: to see that the equipment we are using is
the best and most practical for our use not that it looks good or talks to
you.
