DeKalb Professional FireFighter PAC (Political Action Committee)The DPFF PAC was established to create an independent account from members dues money to move our professional concerns in the political realm. The money raised for this account is purely voluntary and used only for political action. Why is political action important? Politicians control the budget that funds our salaries, equipment and benefits. If we influence those people during the election period, we can find those politicians who want firefighters on their side and are will do things that are right to protect our jobs and lives. The need for political action is crucial for our local. It is the only way to bring attention to our concerns (pay disparities, staffing levels and other safety problems) from those who are elected. As Al Whitehead (former General President of the IAFF) said "money is the mothers' milk of politics." Each member needs to consider how much they can contribute for political action here in DeKalb County. Every donation counts. Contributions should be sent to : DPFF PAC - 178 Laredo Drive - Decatur, GA 30030 Contributions are not tax deductible. |
